DFWRUNS Negotiates Partnership with NBA to keep Mardi Gras Run in Downtown

WNBA Superstar and Olympic Gold Medalist Jennifer Azzi is All Smiles at the Start of the Panini Kids Run & Dribble.

We sit down with the office of special events last spring and they tell us that downtown Dallas is going to be locked down during Mardi Gras weekend because of the NBA All-Star game and that running a 5K is out of the question unless the NBA allows it.  Can you say opportunity knocking?  So that is exactly what DFWRUNS does!  Nobody likes a long story so to make it short DFWRUNS negotiated a partnership with NBA FIT and delivers an All-Star version of the Mardi Gras Run.  Complete with NBA legend AC Green and WNBA superstar and Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Azzi (who ran the race by the way), JAM Session tickets for all and some great new partners like Panini Adrenalyn XL, adidas and a rare Dallas snowstorm the All-Star version of the Mardi Gras Run was a tremendous success.
