DFWRUNS Joins ZERO, for Great Prostate Cancer Challenge/Dash for Dads Series at Conference in Orlando

DFWRUNS has been invited as guest speakers at the annual conference hosted by ZERO the Project to End Prostate Cancer this month in Orlando. While here we are inspired by Walt and his original vision,  “WALT DISNEY WORLD is a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney and to the talents, the dedication and the loyalty of the entire Disney organization that made Walt Disney’s dream come true. May Walt Disney World bring Joy and Inspiration and New Knowledge to all who come to this happy place...a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn — together.”

In the spirit of Disney — DFWRUNS will be speaking at the conference to assist in the building of active lifestyle marketing and management of The Great Pros­tate Cancer Challenge/Dash for Dad race series which will be hosted in 34 cities in 2012. Each will be locally managed by a Urology Group or Practice partner.

The conference is an opportunity for the Urology practices to learn about race management, marketing and best practices. Sharon Lindberg VP of DFWRUNS along with Michael Burnett CEO of Kansas City Urology Care PA will be co-presenting a case study from the 2011 Great Prostate Cancer Challenge Kansas City.

Like running a PR, our team is always moti­vated to further the distance in less the time! So when Kansas City Urology Care chose DFWRUNS as their marketing agency this past year, we not only set out to assist them with elevating race attendance and overall awareness of the event, but to double the number of participants! We succeeded through a grassroots marketing plan that was successful! Without giving away all of our secrets, we did so by looking at strategic partnerships within the running community and developed a relationship with a local running store partner. We picked up the pace by implementing a consistent targeted marketing plan through flyer distribution, e-blasts, print advertising, event marketing and worked with existing partners like the Kansas City Track Club. And we worked with corporate partners through our corporate recess program.

In addition to presenting the case study, DFWRUNS will be hosting a Race 101 session at the conference and our Chief Running Officer, Eric Lindberg, will be speaking on a panel
titled “Marketing and Promotion — How to Grow Your Race” alongside Chris Brewer, Senior Manager for Livestrong.
