Plano ISD Superintendent Dr. Doug Otto Addresses the Crowd a the 2010 Central Market Thrill of the Grill
When Central Market asked us how to put some sizzle into the second annual Thrill of the Grill we told them we wanted to "Beef" up the sales effort and bring in our Group Sales department. Well mission accomplished! DFWRUNS quadrupled the size of the race taking it from 300 runners in 2009 to over 1,200 in 2010 and nearly half of which were from Groups Sales. Now we certainly can't take all the credit as the beneficiary of the race the Plano ISD Education Foundation gave us great exposure to the schools and the faculty but someone had to make the calls, presentations, follow up and fullfillment. Plus we hit the local businesses through their wellness departments to get involved and when the dust settled our Group Sales department nearly doubled the size of the race by themselves.
